Job Overview

Project Leadership and Management:

  • Oversee the execution of specialized and complex projects that support business requirements, ensuring effective leadership and accountability from the initial concept through to operation.
  • Manage projects related to information technology infrastructure, network systems, telecommunication, hybrid cloud environments, high availability systems, and disaster recovery solutions.

Development and Execution of Project Plans:

  • Create comprehensive project management plans that outline goals, objectives, scope, cost, schedule, resources, roles, and responsibilities
  • Evaluate and determine the most suitable project management methodology-whether Waterfall, Agile, or a Hybrid approach­ based on the specific requirements and characteristics of each project.
  • Maintain flexibility to adjust methodologies and strategies as project needs evolve, ensuring continuous alignment with project goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • Ensure projects are executed through all phases, from the creation of a business case to implementation, while adhering to governance requirements and achieving successful project outcomes.

Project Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial resources are allocated effectively and expenditures are monitored and controlled.
  • Prepare business cases and financial analyses to support project proposals and decisions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Present financial information and business cases to relevant stakeholders and decision-makers, guiding projects through approval gates and securing necessary funding.

Resource and Stakeholder Management:

  • Develop resource plans to ensure all stakeholders are involved and have a voice in the project.
  • Assist the Product Owner/ Business Analyst/ Technical Project Manager in managing business expectations, stakeholder communications, and project governance for well-coordinated and inclusive project execution.
  • Ensure clear and transparent communication with all stakeholders, maintaining engagement and fostering collaborative relationships throughout the project lifecycle
  • Monitor and manage stakeholder expectations to ensure alignment with project deliverables and timelines, emphasizing the value and benefits realized from the project

Optimization of Project Execution:

  • Develop detailed project plans, assign priorities, identify dependencies, track milestones, enforce scope change control, and oversee budget adherence to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate with other departments to align resources, schedules, and objectives, ensuring seamless integration and execution of project tasks across the organization
  • Conduct workshops with project teams and stakeholders to facilitate knowledge sharing, problem-solving, and collaborative decision-making, enhancing project execution and innovation

Technical Project Leadership:

  • Lead the execution of technical projects, coordinating with multiple partners, vendors, technology teams, application owners, and business partners to ensure successful outcomes and compliance with engineering and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the IT services team to ensure that technical requirements and support are in place, optimizing technology utilization and project execution

Risk Management:

  • Conduct thorough risk management for all project risks and opportunities, providing actionable solutions to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all risk management activities, including risk registers, mitigation plans, and incident reports, to support decision-making and provide a historical record for future projects.
  • Clearly communicate risks and their potential impacts to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and fostering a proactive approach to risk management

Primary Contact and Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the project implementation process, escalating needs, issues, and concerns as appropriate.
  • Meet with consultants and contractors to clarify contractual requirements or scope of work.

Presentation and Liaison:

  • Prepare and present the project vision to senior staff, influencing cross-functional teams to adopt operational or technological changes.
  • Maintain liaison with external groups, regulatory bodies, and agencies to ensure alignment with project objectives.

Reporting and Data Accuracy:

  • Develop and deliver reports and presentations that define plans, issues, status, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management.
  • Ensure data in all project-related tools and repositories is accurate and up to date
  • Use data visualization techniques to present complex information in an accessible and understandable format, facilitating better comprehension and decision-making.

Adaptability and Flexibility:

  • Demonstrate the ability to take on additional responsibilities and tasks as needed, contributing to the overall success and adaptability of the team and organization.
  • Effectively respond to unforeseen challenges, support various projects, and ensure continuous alignment with organizational goals.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration with a specialization in Project Management/ Program Management/ Portfolio Management, or a related discipline. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge required for managing complex projects, particularly in the IT and infrastructure sectors.

Skills:

  • Project Management Expertise: Proficiency in project management methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid approaches, with the ability to select and apply the most appropriate method for each project.
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership skills to guide project teams and excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels, ensuring clear and effective information exchange.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex problems, develop strategic solutions, and make data-driven decisions to optimize project outcomes.
  • Risk Management: Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks, with the ability to develop and implement effective risk management strategies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Software/Applications Development, Al technology, IT infrastructure, network systems, and emerging technologies, enabling effective collaboration with technical teams and vendors.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing project requirements and organizational needs, maintaining alignment with strategic goals.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 8 to 1O years of experience in managing IT projects, this experience should include leading cross-functional teams and managing complex project portfolios.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget, with experience in lifecycle management and technology enhancements.
  • Professional Designations or Licenses:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification: A recognized certification that demonstrates expertise in project management principles and practices.
  • Agile Certifications: Certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) are beneficial, showcasing proficiency in Agile methodologies and practices.
  • Other Relevant Certifications: Additional certifications related to IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, or specific vendor technologies may be advantageous, enhancing the candidate’s technical credentials and industry knowledge.
  • Accounting destination (CPA/CGA/CMA/CA)
